2019 Würzburg Stein-Berg Riesling Grosses Gewächs trocken, Franconia/Franken, Germany

Already almost a little developed, vegetal and clearly petrol-like citrus stone fruit scent with peppery traces, hints of black berries and clear minerality. Ripe, melting, a touch sweetish fruit, fine acidity, some grip of crumbly tannin and some warmth, vegetal nuances on the palate, hints of candy, good persistence, minerality in the background, a bit of dark berries, petrol and floral nuances, very good finish. Not quite a safe prognosis; seems to develop surprisingly fast.

Editor note: Somewhat yeasty and distinctly vegetal nose with yellow fruity aromas, a hint of wax, floral nuances, coffee grounds and some minerality. Ripe, slightly warm, sweetish-melting fruit with nutty and a little buttery aromas, moderate acidity, yeasty and clearly mineral notes, persistent, good substance, some grip, certain depth, quite compact structure, smoky wood notes, red berries, very good, again a little sweetish and warm finish.
