2018 Würzburg Pfaffenberg Spätburgunder VDP.Erste Lage trocken, Franconia/Franken, Germany

Quite firm, very slightly nutty, floral and dried-vegetable scent of red and a little black berries with mushroomy traces and a hint of bacon. Rather cool, quite firm, tart-juicy fruit, slightly smoky, nutty-woody, delicately peppery and mushroomy notes, fine sandy, still very slightly drying tannins, toasty hints on the palate, good persistence, certain power, minerality in the background, very good, firm, smoky and tart-juicy finish with grip and chalky tones.
