2018 Mittelburgenland DAC Ried Bodigraben Blaufränkisch Reserve trocken, Burgenland, Austria

Warm, somewhat dark-roasty aroma of ripe black berries and some plums, clearly tobacco, slightly toasty wood aromas, pepper and with air increasingly also herbs. Firm, tart, juicy dark fruit with smoky, toasty wood, tobacco and a hint of pepper, slight acid bite, present, ripe, fine sandy tannin, persistent, bacony nuances, a little dried herbs and juniper, a hint of soot, persistent, some depth, very good, juicy, toasty and bacony finish. Already has some class for the price.
