The winery is located in the municipality of Schweigen (area Südliche Weinstraße) in the German wine region of Pfalz. The company, founded in 1961, is now managed by Werner Jülg, with his son Johannes being responsible for the cellar. The vineyards comprise 18 hectares of vineyards in the Sonnenberg single vineyard in the areas of Springberg, Pfarrwingert, St. Paul and Wormberg. These are characterised by different soil conditions. About 40% of the areas are above the nearby border in the French Alsace. The white wine varieties Riesling,Pinot Blanc, PinotGris, Chardonnay, Muscat, Gewürztraminer, Scheurebe and Sauvignon Blanc are cultivated to 70%, and the red wine varieties PinotNoir, St. Laurent,Pinot Meunier, Cabernet Sauvignon, Dornfelder and Blauer Portugieser to 30%. Through appropriate measures such as thinning, the yield is reduced to a maximum of 65 hl/ha. The wines are vinified according to their variety and origin. Riesling and Pinot Noir partly undergo spontaneous fermentation. The white wines lie on the for a long time. Certain red wines mature in . Bottle-fermented sparkling wines are also produced. The winery is a member of Forum Pfalz and Generation Riesling.
