2015 Bürgstadt Hundsrück Spätburgunder trocken "J", Franconia/Franken, Germany

Reddish brown. Mature, warm, red berry nose with nutty and somewhat tobacco wood notes. Clear, tart fruit and noticeable wood in the mouth, fine sandy tannin, toasty notes on the palate, some bread spices, quite good persistence, earthy to mineral tones, some warmth, has more life than the nose initially suggests, only depth and length are rather limited, tart finish

Editor note: Slightly matt red-brown colour. Vegetal notes on the nose, prominent mushrooms, predominantly red berries, delicate hint of tobacco, leathery notes, light earthy and mineral notes. Tart fruit on the plate, fairly prominent oak, slightly astringent tannins, prominent vegetal aromas with a hint of capers, fine sandy tannins, mushrooms, slightly noticeable warm alcohol, rather rustic style, slightly muted, spicy notes, touch of bell peppers, salty mineral notes, more astringent tannins on a good to very good finish.
