2019 Neuenahr Sonnenberg Frühburgunder Grosses Gewächs, Ahr, Germany

Quite firm, somewhat smoky, mushroomy and dried herbal aroma of predominantly red berries and a little cherry with slightly undergrowth aromas. Polished, tightly knit, quite juicy fruit with some nutty wood aromas, a hint of bacon and dried mushrooms, crumbly, still youthful tannin, good substance and persistence, mint and slightly toasty notes in the background, salty and earthy tones, very good finish with traction.
