2023 Wachau DAC Riesling Smaragd® trocken "Best of Quitten2", Lower Austria/Niederösterreich, Austria

A somewhat plant-like to tobacco-like and subtly smoky scent with mineral notes, ripe citrus fruits, some stone fruits, and bitter core fruit aromas. In the mouth, it is noticeably sweeter than the nose suggests, with citrus fruits, a bit of apricot and quince, very fine acidity, floral nuances, and a hint of yellow spice on the palate, reminiscent of curry, along with delicate vegetal spiciness in the background, pronounced minerality, persistent, has power, but also cooling elements, fine grip, good depth, very good, sweet-juicy, and again spicy finish with a touch of nut butter.
