2005 Kamptal Ried Thal Grüner Veltliner trocken, Lower Austria/Niederösterreich, Austria

Prominent mineral and peppery notes on the nose, ripe, partly dried apples, honeydew melon and citrus notes, dried herbs. Creamy and slightly nutty on the palate, very ripe fruit, more partly dried apples, very slight vegetal notes, prominent spicy mineral notes, quite full-bodied, persistent on the palate, delicate tart notes, good depth, long finish. This wine was initially a bit restless, but has developed very well over the past few weeks.

Editor note: Prominent mineral notes, honeydew melon, some ripe apples and citrus fruit, vegetal note reminiscent of puréed peas. More light vegetal notes on the palate, apples and delicate nutty notes, elegant acidity with good presence, tart mineral notes, quite prominent tannins, takes away a little of the wine's clarity, but becomes more integrated with aeration, tart, good finish. Slightly uncertain forecast.
