2018 Leithaberg DAC Ried Edelgraben Blaufränkisch trocken, Burgenland, Austria

Firm and polished, deep, rather cool bouquet with very fine black berry aromas, a little sour cherry, dried herbs, hints of pepper and fleshy traces. Taut, fine, tart, fresh fruit with acidity and present, yet very fine tannins, herbal and a little juniper-ethereal on the palate, again also pepper and fleshy nuances, lasting, deep and complex, has freshness and polish, salty minerality in the background, smoky traces, hints of coffee beans, very good, tight finish with brilliant juice and fine dark spice. Wonderful Blaufränkisch.
