2019 Mittelburgenland DAC Ried Hochberg Blaufränkisch trocken, Burgenland, Austria

Clear, black berry scent with slightly nutty and tobacco wood spice, meaty traces and a hint of tar. Clear, polished, tart-juicy fruit, slightly smoky, peppery and tarry notes, some bite, a hint of pepper, good persistence, salt in the background, slightly cocoa-spicy wood notes, again also tobacco, very good, tight finish with bite. Very skilful and, for what it can do, extremely affordable.
