Editor note: Somewhat nutty pome fruit scent with floral traces. Clear, straightforward, fine-juicy fruit, delicate sweetness and fine acidity, some grip, red berry nuances, slightly smoky and herbal on the palate, clear minerality, persistent, still young, very good, quite firm, again grippy and quite mineral finish.

The name is derived from the historical affiliation as the province of Rheinhessen of the Grand Duchy of Hesse from 1816 to 1919.
