2023 Welschriesling Landwein trocken "PRO", Steirerland, Austria

Firm and still reductive, relatively cool, austere, slightly fatty, somewhat nutty and dried-plant to herbal scent of yellow fruits with a hint of yellow spice and suggested dark berries. Almost slender in appearance, but still substantial, slightly yeasty fruit with delicate melt, austere nutty barrel tones, a trace of grapefruit and again certain reductive tones, lively acidity, tender, still slightly drying tannin, good sustainability, salty and chalky minerality, slight shell tones in the background, very good, finely juicy finish with delicate leafy-plant hints. Needs to mature a bit more.

Best to drink: Ende 2025 bis 2029+. What our ratings mean
