The wines keep constant high level and are usually the best in their respective category in the area. Weaknesses, there is little, but can occur in difficult vintages. However, this must be balanced in good years with particularly compelling assortments so that an operation can hold the status. In most cases you can blindly buy.

The family business of the Grafen von Schönborn, with its headquarters in Wiesentheid in Franconia (Germany), includes not only viticulture but also the five business areas of agriculture, forestry, sawmill, pond farming and gastronomy. Since 1998 the entire business has been managed by Paul Graf von Schönborn. Vineyards in the Rheingau community of Winkel, owned by the noble family, are documented as far back as 1349. This was the beginning of the traditional winegrowing tradition of the Counts of Schönborn. The Schönborns were one of the first to fill their hand-picked wines on mouth-blown bottles as early as 1725. A 1735 "Johannisberger" from the domain's treasury is one of the earliest known bottle fillings in Germany and still sets the standard for the most expensive wine in Germany today. As one of the founding members of the VDP (Association of German Prädikat Wine Estates), the Counts of Schönborn have always placed particular emphasis on quality, Rheingau typicity and variety of sites. They run vineyards in the Rheingau and in Franconia

The Domain Winery Schloss Schönborn is located in the community of Hattenheim in the German Rheingau wine region. It is one of the oldest wineries in Germany. In 2015, substantial investments in infrastructure, cellar technology and buildings of the winery were started under new management. The end of construction is planned for 2017. The aim is to create a meeting place for wine lovers from all over the world. The vineyards comprise 45 hectares of vines in 33 renowned individual vineyards in the Rheingau, which were acquired in the 17th and 18th centuries. These are, for example, Baiken (Rauenthal), Berg Schlossberg (Rüdesheim), Domdechaney, Hölle und Kirchenstück (Hochheim), Höllenberg (Assmannshausen), Klaus (Johannisberg), Kläuserweg and Rothenberg (Geisenheim), Marcobrunn (Erbach), Krone (Lorch), as well as Nussbrunnen, Pfaffenberg in exclusive possession and Wisselbrunnen (Hattenheim). They are planted with Riesling (90%), as well as Pinot Noir and Pinot Blanc. The wines are marketed in the three lines estate wines, site wines and first growths. Bottle-fermented sparkling wines are also produced. About 70% of the wines are exported

The second winery Graf von Schönborn Schloss Hallburg is located in the municipality of Volkach (area Maindreieck) in the Franconian wine growing region. It has been in operation since 1806. The vineyards comprise 30 hectares of vineyards in the individual locations Kapellenberg and in the exclusive possession of Schlosspark (Gaibach), as well as in the exclusive possession of Schlossberg (Hallburg). They are planted with the white wine varieties Müller-Thurgau, Silvaner, Riesling, Kerner, Bacchus, Rieslaner, Pinot Gris, Gewürztraminer, as well as the red wine varieties Pinot Noir and Domina. The wines are marketed in the lines estate wines, site wines and star wines. Bottle-fermented sparkling wines are also produced

Teresa Countess Alvares Pereira von Schönborn is the fifth generation of the family to run the family business Casa Cadaval in Portugal near Lisbon. Agriculture, the breeding of pure-bred Lousitanos horses and viticulture are carried out here on 5,000 hectares of land. The vineyards cover 53 hectares in the Ribatejo region, 95% of which are planted with the red wine varieties Tinta Roriz (Tempranillo), Touriga Nacional, Trincadeira Preta, Cabernet Sauvignon, Pinot Noir and Merlot. The yield is limited to 45 hl/ha.
