2019 Merlot trocken, Württemberg, Germany

Somewhat smoky, herbal to dried, nutty and very slightly animal nose of partly preserved mixed berries with a hint of lavender. Dark, juicy fruit with some acid bite, some spicy and smoky wood flavours and a hint of tobacco, present, very slightly drying tannin, a hint of long pepper and coffee grounds in the background, good to very good, only slightly drying finish again.
