2021 Rauenthal Nonnenberg Riesling Monopol, Rheingau, Germany

Cool and restrained, yet firm nose with calm, deep yellow fruity aromas, fine herbaceous-vegetable aromas, a hint of celery, water lilies and hints of blackberries. Bright, taut, cool fruit, still slightly smoky-reductive, lively acidity and grip, intense, chalky-stony minerality, floral nuances and a hint of blackberries, persistent and deep, elegant, noble style, tart nutty traces, still little developed, surprisingly dense and substantial for a dry Riesling with such low alcohol, long and rather tart despite moderate residual sweetness.
