2012 Blaufränkisch trocken V-MAX, Burgenland, Austria

Prominent spicy oak on the nose, some chocolate and tobacco notes, ripe, partly preserved black berries and cherries, hint of licorice, earthy and peppery traces. Ripe, dark, farily juicy fruit on the palate, prominent sooty, toasted oak, more chocolate and tobacco, firm but fine tannins, persistent, some licorice and a hint of juniper, full-bodied, high level of well integrated alcohol, earthy and light tarry notes, some depth, salty notes in the background, some dried herbs, slightly bitter oak, but becomes more juicy with aeration, some bite on a very good finish.
