Wine Review Report :

wein.plus rating: Very good (86 WP)
Last reviewed: 12 November, 2014
Editor note: Translate to English Herber Duft nach reifen schwarzen beeren mit leicht rußiger Holzwürze, getrocknet-vegetabilen Aromen udn erdigen Tönen. Reife dunkle Frucht im Mund, wieder deutliches, etwas rußiges Holz, bitterlich-nussige Töne, gewisse Nachhaltigkeit am gaumen, viel Kraft und wärmender Alkohol, trocknendes Tannin, guter bis sehr guter, herber Abgang.

Editor note: Nose still slightly closed, berries, light nutty notes, light roasted notes and chocolate, some old oak. Fairly cool, firm, compact fruit on the palate, blackberries and red currants, vegetal and delicate herbaceous notes, some dark chocolate, fruit marinated in cognac, integrated tannins, rather closed, full-bodied and persistent, has substance, very slightly alcoholic on a long finish. Needs time.

The province of Burgenland with the capital Eisenstadt is located in the very east of Austria. It borders Slovakia in the north, Hungary in the east, Slovenia in the south for a few kilometres and the two Austrian provinces of Lower Austria and Styria in the west. Wine-growing has been of great importance here for at least two and a half millennia, which is underlined by the regional variation of the historian Johannes Aventinus (1477-1534)'s saying "Extra Pannoniam non es vita; si est vita, non est ita" (You cannot live outside Pannonia; if you can live, you cannot live like here)....
