2002 Mittelburgenland trocken Juwel, Burgenland, Austria

Editor note: Deep, complex nose, light notes of smoked meat, ripe berries, soot, herbs and some chocolate. Still quite youthful on the palate, concentrated, dominated by cool red berry and cherry fruit, has backbone and structure, prominent oak just beginning to integrate, good mineral structure, attractive depth, alcohol already well integrated, long finish. Needs time to mature.
