Editor note: Quite firm and deep, cool, still slightly reductive bouquet with very fine yellow fruity aromas, floral traces and mineral hints. Extremely juicy, noble sweet fruit, very fine acidity, fine herbal aromas on the palate, delicately yeasty, quite distinct minerality, good depth and substance, persistent, dense and brilliantly pure, still undeveloped, yet already beguiling, a hint of dark berries in the background, perfect balance, long, juicy, very slightly creamy finish with very fine, complex spice and draught. Area (also Middle Moselle) of the German Moselle growing region (see in detail there). The eponymous municipality of Bernkastel-Kues with a population of around 8,000 is located on the Middle Moselle in the district of Bernkastel-Wittrich, about 50 kilometres from Trier in the federal state of Rheinald-Pfalz. It is divided into the four districts Andel and Bernkastel on the right and Kues and Wehlen on the left bank of the Moselle. Bernkastel-Kues is a state-approved spa. The individual sites Alte Badstube am Doctorberg, Bratenhöfchen, Doctor, Graben,...

The wine-growing region is located in Rhineland-Palatinate and to a small extent also in Saarland in Germany. The Moselle River winds its way from Trier to Koblenz over 237 km, but as the crow flies it is only 96 km. These three rivers gave the wine-growing region the old name Mosel-Saar-Ruwer, which was valid until 2007. Germany's oldest vineyards are located on...

The oldest vineyards were located on the banks of the Rhine, Neckar and Moselle. These rivers with their elongated valleys, as well as their tributaries, are still the classic growing areas today. Viticulture was established by the colonization of the Greeks in Gaul and then brought to perfection by the Roman culture. The conquest of Gaul by Julius Caesar (100-44 BC) brought Roman viticulture from...
