2018 Schweigen Pinot Noir trocken, Pfalz, Germany

Clear, firm and polished, tart nose of mixed berries and cherries with some juniper, tobacco aromas and nutty and slightly peppery tones. Firm also in the mouth, ripe, tart red and black fruit, smoky, peppery and toasty aromas, fine sandy, youthful tannin, lots of power and some warmth, juniper-ethereal notes, salt in the background, also chalk, smoky wood notes, good depth, very good, firm, tart-juicy finish with ethereal dry herb notes. Must mature.
