2018 Schweigen Sonnenberg Pinot Noir trocken "KB", Pfalz, Germany

Firm and deep, somewhat tobacco and nutty aroma of ripe predominantly black berries and a little juniper with cedary and resinous nuances, fine ethereal herbs, undergrowth, dried mushrooms and some ash. Firmly knitted, tart-juicy, pithy fruit, present, fine sandy, youthful tannin, smoky and slightly bitterish-ashy and toasty wood tones, dried herbs in the background, black olives and a little pepper and juniper, persistent, has power, substance and depth, still undeveloped, very firm, tart-juicy, again slightly smoky and ashy, but above all dark-ethereal finish with lots of draw and minerality. Must mature.
