2019 Oberbergen Bassgeige Spätburgunder "Steinriese", Baden, Germany

Compact and deep, still closed, slightly smoky and quite clearly tobacco aroma of more red than black berries with dried floral nuances, animal traces, some minerality and herbal nuances. Very tightly woven, noble, ripe, tangy fruit with youthful, present, yet fine tannins, herbal aromas, a little smoke and clear, saline minerality, deep, dense and persistent, still barely developed, complex, moderate wood, very own, dark spice, a little tar, long, immensely concentrated, multi-layered finish. Closes on the second day and only comes back on the third. Great.
