The winery is located in the municipality of Rhodt unter Rietburg (Südliche Weinstraße area) in the German wine-growing region of
Pfalz. The traditional winery has a history of over 300 years. There is also a wine tavern and a guesthouse. Since 2012, the business has been run by Felix Waldkirch, who trained as a winemaker and chef. The vineyards cover nine hectares of vines in the single vineyard sites Bergel (Edenkoben), Michelsberg (Weyher in the Palatinate), as well as Klosterpfad, Rosengarten and
Schlossberg (Rhodt unter Rietburg). They are planted with the white wine varieties Riesling, Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris, Silvaner, Sauvignon Blanc, Gewürztraminer, Morio-Muskat Scheurebe, as well as the red wine varieties Pinot Noir and Dornfelder
The vineyards are cultivated in a natural and environmentally friendly way. Through selective harvesting, only
physiologically ripe and healthy grapes are processed. The gentle vinification is carried out in an extremely conservative manner, with as little intervention as possible. The white wines are mainly matured in stainless steel, but also to a lesser extent in large wooden barrels and in barriques. They are kept on the
lees for a long time. The red wines are mainly matured in large wooden barrels and barriques. The premium wines include Riesling Rhodter Schlossberg, Pinot Blanc Rhodter Rosengarten, as well as the fruit-sweet Kabinett and Spätleseweine
