2020 Südsteiermark DAC Kitzeck-Sausal Sauvignon Blanc trocken, Styria/Steiermark, Austria

Slightly warm, clearly vegetal and somewhat dried-herbal and hinted mushroomy nose of ripe yellow fruit with a hint of nutmeg and butter. Polished, slightly warm fruit with a delicate sweetish melt, fine acidity, has some grip and persistence, vegetal and a hint of yellow spice in the background, salty tones, very good finish with a certain warmth and delicate bitterness.

Best to drink: Mitte 2022 bis 2027+.
Editor note: Clear, firm white and yellow fruity scent with nutty and yeasty traces, hints of dark berries, floral nuances and quite distinct minerality. Ripe, tightly knit, rather bright fruit, chalky-salty minerality, taut acidity, very slightly sweet melting, persistent on the palate, still undeveloped, some depth, certain warmth, very good, firm finish. Should still mature.
