2017 Süd-Steiermark Ried Zwickl Reserve trocken, Styria/Steiermark, Austria

Relatively cool, firm and deep, somewhat smoky, dried herbal, nutty, bacon and slightly mushroomy nose of yellow fruits with some chalky hints. Quite polished, firm fruit with some melting, a hint of red berries and fennel, lively acidity, has some grip of ripe tannin, good substance and persistence, bacon, pepper and noticeable smoky and nutty wood in the background, bacon again, light mineral tones, very good, peppery and slightly smoky finish.
