The "Ökologisches Weingut Feitig-Richter" is located in the municipality of Siebeldingen (Südliche Weinstraße area) in the German wine-growing region of Pfalz.
The family has been involved in viticulture for several generations. The farm is managed by Ekkehard Richter. The vineyards cover 6.5 hectares of vineyards in the single vineyard sites Im Sonnenschein
(Siebeldingen) and Münzberg
(Godramstein). They are planted with the white wine varieties Riesling, Chardonnay, Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris, Johanniter, Morio-Muskat and Müller-Thurgau, as well as with the red wine varieties Pinot Noir, Cabernet Sauvignon, Dornfelder, Dunkelfelder, Portugieser, Regent and St. Laurent. The farm became a member of the organic association Bioland
as early as 1989. Since then, the vineyards have been cultivated according to the guidelines of organic viticulture
The vines are given the best possible growing conditions through environmentally friendly measures. Soil fertility is promoted by sowing clover and other legumes
and supplemented with organic fertiliser
. The use of pesticides
is completely avoided. After selective hand harvesting, the grapes are processed in a gentle manner that varies according to the type of wine. As far as possible, the wines are vinified in a way that is typical of
the variety and terroir
. The red wines mature in large wooden barrels, the white wines in steel tanks. The bottle-fermented sparkling wines are left on their lees for at least nine months. Grape juices are also produced, which are bottled without heating. The winery is a member of Bioland
and Generation Riesling.
