2018 Leithaberg DAC Ried Marienthal Blaufränkisch trocken, Burgenland, Austria

Firm, quite polished aroma of ripe mainly dark berries and cherries with slightly minty-herbal nuances, a hint of pepper, hints of black olives and floral nuances. Ripe, tightly knit, tangy fruit with slightly smoky and tobacco aromas, some juniper and pepper, a certain acidity, taut, fine tannins, salty minerality in the background, smoky-roasty traces, a little coffee, good depth, a hint of plums, very good, taut, polished, tangy finish with freshness, ethereal spice and bite.
