2007 Leithaberg Blaufränkisch trocken Leithaberg, Burgenland, Austria

Slightly tart black berries on the nose, some red berries and preserved sour cherries, prominent herbaceous notes, tart earthy and mineral notes. Very firm on the palate, dark, fairly cool fruit, tart roasted oak and medium-fine tannins, still slightly brittle, excellent persistence, earthy with intense mineral notes, still totally undeveloped, has substance, bite and remarkable depth, long, complex, deep finish. Needs time to mature.
