The winery is located in the municipality of Deinzendorf near Retz
in the Lower Austrian wine growing region Weinviertel
. The traditional family has been growing wine since 1516. Today the estate is managed by Wilhelm and Waltraud Laurer and son Markus. The vineyards cover 16 hectares of vineyards in the areas Altenberg, Junge Bergen, Mittelberg, Schluchten and Schrattenbach. They are planted with the white wine varieties Grüner Veltliner (7 hectares), Pinot Blanc, Müller-Thurgau, Welschriesling, Chardonnay and Bouvier, as well as the red wine varieties Blauer Portugieser, Zweigelt, Blauburger and Merlot. We consistently practice environmentally friendly winegrowing close to nature. The quality criteria in the vineyard include quantity reduction and careful manual harvesting. Premium wines include, for example, various (Grüner Veltliner), Chardonnay Mittelberg, Zweigelt Reserve and Zweigelt Classic. Fine brandies and bottle-fermented sparkling wines are also produced. In suitable years straw wines and ice wines are also pressed.
