2018 Leithaberg DAC Ried Schildten Blaufränkisch trocken, Burgenland, Austria

Clear, firm, quite polished aroma of ripe black berries with herbal, peppery and juniper notes, undergrowth and floral tones. Tart, firm dark fruit with present tannins and noticeable acid bite, nutty, dried-vegetable to herbal and slightly tobacco notes, pepper and juniper in the background, floral-perfumed tones, much power and noticeable alcohol, fine sandy tannin, mushroomy traces, good persistence, very good finish with tart fruit, slightly drying tannin and much alcohol.

Best to drink: Mitte 2023 bis 2028+. What our ratings mean
