2009 Blaufränkisch trocken, Burgenland, Austria

Nutty oak on the nose, slightly jammy black berry fruit, some dried cherries, dried vegetal notes and some bell peppers. Toasted oak on the palate, some burnt vegetal notes, cool dark fruit, smoky, toasted and sooty notes, fairly fine, but slightly astringent tannins, bitter earthy and vegetal notes, fairly persistent, not particularly deep, noticeable alcohol, good finish.
