2005 Leithaberg Blaufränkisch trocken, Burgenland, Austria

Spicy red berry nose with herbaceous notes, slightly stalky and a little cheesy. Initially sharp and rough on the palate, still very young, quite juicy cherries and red currants, rather dusty and angular tannins, fruit develops with aeration, and the wine becomes more accessible, hint of acidity, quite a light-bodied style, not particularly deep, slightly astringent on an attractive to good finish.
