2012 Syrah trocken, Rheinhessen, Germany

Slightly animalistic, vegetal and underwoody, slightly hazy nose with smoky notes, soup herbs, some juniper berries and earthy notes. Tart on the palate, again slightly hazy fruit with greasy and smoky oak, prominent earthy vegetal notes and animal notes, fairly persistent, full-bodied and has some warmth, dusty, slightly astringent tannins, slightly dark chocolate, fairly creamy, not particularly deep, very lightly cooked, good finish.
