The winery is located in the municipality of Trittenheim (Bernkastel area) in the German Moselle
wine region. Since 1991 it has been managed by Ernst Clüsserath. The vineyards cover a little more than three hectares in the Trittenheim single vineyards and Apotheke
. They are almost exclusively planted with Riesling (3.1 hectares), as well as small quantities of Kerner and Müller-Thurgau. The vineyards are cultivated in a consistent, natural way, with fertilization on an exclusively organic basis, as well as complete renunciation of herbicides
. The musts are fermented as spontaneously as possible at constant temperatures between 16 and 18 degrees Celsius and are matured half in classic wooden barrels and half in stainless steel tanks. Around 25,000 bottles of wine are produced annually. Eighty percent of this goes directly to the end consumer, the rest is exported to the United States.
