2019 Leinsweiler Spätburgunder trocken "R", Pfalz, Germany

Tart, slightly developed scent of black and red berries with a hint of liquorice and ivy. Ripe, warm fruit with toasty and a little chocolaty wood flavours, a little coffee and dark caramel, almost a little sweet melting, good persistence, a touch of salt in the background, hints of liquorice, good to very good, warm, again bitter-chocolaty-woody finish that dries slightly. Develops faster than initially suspected and has already lost a little tension.

Editor note: Rather restrained, somewhat floral, herbal and slightly mushroomy aroma of predominantly red berries and a little cherry with a touch of pepper, hints of malt and nuances reminiscent of rosehip and black olives. Clear, juicy fruit with delicate mushroomy and nutty-woody aromas, fine sandy, still youthful tannins, good persistence, hints of wax and anise, salty tones, very good, grippy and at the same time animating finish with a hint of pepper.
