2019 Achkarren Schlossberg Spätburgunder Grosses Gewächs trocken, Baden, Germany

Smoky to bacony and a little leathery aroma of ripe black and a little red berries with some pomegranate, a touch of eucalyptus and juniper with herbal tones, pepper and liquorice. Quite tightly knit, tangy fruit with some bite and youthful, yet polished tannins, a touch of citrus on the palate, persistent, ethereal spice, coffee and dark chocolate in the background, also aromatic pepper, still undeveloped, lots of power, some depth, very good, firm, quite complex, slightly warm finish with cooling ethereal notes.
