2005 Ihringen Winklerberg Weißburgunder Spätlese trocken ***, Baden, Germany

Spica oak and vegetal notes on the nose, initially hidden apples and melon fruit develop with aeration. Bone dry style, noticeable old oak, becomes more integrated with aeration, initially slightly subdued fruit and slightly astringent tannins, but increasingly juiy and creamy given time in the glass, mineral traces in the background, juicy and slightly oaky on the finish.
