2004 Ihringen Winklerberg Spätburgunder Spätlese trocken ***, Baden, Germany

Typical varietal nose, slightly rustic, red berries and mushrooms, vegetal notes and some oak. Slightly tart on the palate, restrained forest berry fruit, hint of tobacco, slightly sandy tannins, oak, some cool mineral notes, unfortunately very astringent on a rough finish.
