2004 Ihringen Winklerberg Chardonnay Spätlese trocken, Baden, Germany

Medium-intense nose, concentrated. honeydew melon and citrus fruit, white vegetables, mineral notes and spicy oak. Full-bodied with prominent spicy oak on the palate, elegant acidity, slightly astringent tannins, has some substance, roasted notes, sweetish and creamy, some light lactic notes, good persistence, medium-long finish. Currently still dominated by oak.

Best to drink: 2006-2008. What our ratings mean
