2019 Martinsthal Wildsau Pinot Noir VDP.Erste Lage trocken, Rheingau, Germany

Quite firm, a little tobacco aroma of red berries and cassis with a little bacony-meaty nuances, nutshells, dried mushrooms and hints of smoke. Ripe, very slightly warm fruit with a little malty juice, crumbly-sandy tannin, smoky wood notes, dried-herbal to herbal and a little tobacco flavours, a touch of juniper in the background, salty mineral tones, some power and warmth, very good, quite firm, tart-juicy, again malty, smoky and salty-mineral finish with dried herbal notes and a touch of pepper.
