2020 Mayschoss Mönchberg Frühburgunder Grosses Gewächs trocken, Ahr, Germany

Slightly smoky, juniper and peppery aroma of ripe black and some red berries with cherry notes, currant leaves and a little dry herbs. Ripe, juicy fruit with slightly bitter-chocolate and smoky wood notes, pepper, juniper and salt, fine, youthful tannin, persistent on the palate has power and some warmth, but also polish, dried-mushroomy notes, very slightly sooty hints, very good, firm, juicy and tangy finish with salt and a little sage.
