The winery is located in the cadastral district Jedlersdorf in the 21st district Floridsdorf north of the Danube in the north-east of the Austrian capital Wien. A Heuriger with guest garden and a vinotheque with winter garden are attached. The family has over 400 years of wine-growing tradition, and since 2004 the winery has been run by Rainer Christ. The vineyards cover around 20 hectares of vineyards in the south of the Bisamberg in the Breiten, Bruch and Gabrissen vineyards. In 2014, the oldest organically farmed vineyards in Vienna were taken over here. The white wine varieties Grüner Veltliner, Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Pinot Blanc, Riesling and Gelber Muskateller are cultivated to 80%, and the red wine varieties Zweigelt, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Syrah to 20%. Some of the vineyards are very old.
In 2005, the completely renovated cellar was put into operation, in which all the grape material, which is selectively harvested by hand, and the must are transported in an extremely gentle manner using only gravity (without pumps). Five different climate zones ensure ideal ripening conditions. Depending on the type, the wines are matured in stainless steel tanks, in large wooden bar rels or in barriques. Rainer Christ was instrumental in the Viennese Gemischter Satz receiving DAC status from the 2013 vintage onwards. The premium wines include, for example, Grüner Veltliner "X", the Pinot Blanc "Der Vollmondwein", which is vinified according to the phases of the moon, the red wine cuvée "Mephisto" (Zweigelt, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot) and the sweet white wine cuvée "Or Liquide" (Riesling, Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Pinot Blanc). Around 100,000 bottles of wine are produced annually. Fine brandies are also produced. The winery is a member of the winegrowers' associations Traditionsweingüter Österreich and WienWein.
