2015 Walporzheim Kräuterberg Spätburgunder Lagenwein , Ahr, Germany

Peppery spice on the nose, hint of tobacco, light toasted oak, red and a few black berries, light Mediterranean herbs, mineral traces. Tart fruit on the palate, toasted oak, nutty notes, hint of tobacco, ashes, dried vegetal and herbaceous notes, full-bodied and persistent, fine sandy tannins, salty mineral notes, has bite and grip, some depth, veryslightly rough, improves over several days of aeration, becomes more, juicy, deeper and more harmonious, increasingly evident salty mineral notes, very good, nutty, juicy, slightly oaky finish.
