2002 Kamptal Langenlois St. Laurent trocken Anselm, Lower Austria/Niederösterreich, Austria

Fairly mature nose with light lactic and volatile notes, red berries and cherries. Fairly juicy fruit, vegetal notes, hint of smoked bacon, some more lactic and volatile notes, elegant acid bite, very slightly astringent tannins evenly distributed, light mineral notes in the background, good persistence, very good finish. Slightly unusual, but good.

Editor note: Complex nose, partly dried red berries and cherries, some undergrowth, light mineral notes, delicate sweetish roasted notes. Quite light-bodied and very straightforward, red berries on the palate, preserved berries and some cherries, hint of volatile acidity in the background, delicate herbs and spices, light mineral traces, integrated tannins, not heavy, has backbone and some substance, also still has some potential, good finish.
