2018 Castell Domina trocken, Franconia/Franken, Germany

Firm, somewhat herbaceous and slightly smoky aroma of ripe mainly black berries with slightly tobacco wood spice and ethereal notes. Tart dark fruit with smoky wood, vegetal and bacon flavours and quite present tannin, again a little dark ethereal spice in the background, good persistence, some power, present fine sandy tannin, earthy and salty tones, good to very good tart finish with dark juice, vegetal notes and a little pepper. Should mature a little more.
