Editor note: Nose still very slightly reductive, vegetal and earthy notes, hint of mushrooms, citrus, stone and apple fruit. Slightly muted on the palate, more vegetal notes and mushrooms, earthy notes, very slightly sweetish and creamy, slightly noticeable warm alcohol, partly candied fruit, elegant acidity, moderate tannins, still slightly astringent, some substance and persistence, mineral notes, floral traces, hint of bacon on a good to very good finish.
Best to drink: 2018-2023+

The municipality of Nierstein-Schwabsburg with a population of around 8,400 is located on the Rhine in the federal state of Rhineland-Palatinate. The Schwabsburg district was an independent municipality until 1970. One of the three winegrowing areas in the Rheinhessen wine growing region was also named after Nierstein, the other two are Bingen and Wonnegau.
