Editor note: Clear nose, floral notes, red berries, light smoky, cedary and mineral notes. Polished, fairly tart ripe fruit on the palate, light nutty oak, hint of cocoa, very fine tannins, fairly persistent, dried vegetal and herbaceous traces, delicate earthy and salty notes in the background, good contours, again slightly tart and salty on a good to very good finish.

The municipality of Nierstein-Schwabsburg with a population of around 8,400 is located on the Rhine in the federal state of Rhineland-Palatinate. The Schwabsburg district was an independent municipality until 1970. One of the three winegrowing areas in the Rheinhessen wine growing region was also named after Nierstein, the other two are Bingen and Wonnegau.
