2023 Sulzfeld Sonnenberg Chardonnay trocken, Franconia/Franken, Germany

Somewhat smoky, nutty and clearly vegetal aroma with tart pome fruit and citrus flavours and moderate wood spice. Ripe, juicy and somewhat melting fruit with smoky and vegetal flavours, some nut butter and relatively light wood, fine acidity, a hint of citrus zest on the palate, mineral tones in the background, relatively compact structure, hints of bacon and juniper, very good, tart, very slightly drying finish.
