2017 trocken "François", Rheinhessen, Germany

Dark, somewhat toasty, nutty and dried herbal scent of black berries with a hint of Amarena cherries and cocoa. Ripe, rather tightly knitted fruit with notes reminiscent of cassis and pepper, a certain acid bite, lots of crumbly tannin, hints of citrus zest, good substance and persistence, a hint of leather on the very good finish.
