2019 Appenheim Spätburgunder VDP.Aus Ersten Lagen trocken, Rheinhessen, Germany

Clear black and somewhat red berry nose with a little juniper, herbal aromas reminiscent of parsley, dark tobacco, pepper, mushrooms and earthy tones. Firmly woven, tangy dark fruit with present, a little sandy tannins, smoke, dark chocolate, a hint of coffee grounds and salty tones, good persistence, some power and warmth, but also cooling elements, Amarena cherries, pomegranate and a hint of mustard, very good, firm, quite juicy and clearly cocoa-spicy finish with smoke and peppery to juniper tones.
